I lived in Nebraska for a year and half. During my in the heartland, I have learned this: If you can handle the heat, there is so much more there than what people give Nebraska credit for.

Lake Days
It’s a pretty sweet deal if your friends have a boat. Not a bad way to beat the heat, maybe even gather around the fire to conclude the day.
Take a Hike
Nebraska has some great state parks. Indian Cave is one of my favorites. Nothing quite clears the mind like hiking along a ridge through dense greenery following the Missouri river.
Drinks on a rooftop
Pretty self explanatory, cocktails, or even just beer, taste much better with a view.
